Principal's Message
On behalf of our entire staff, I would like to welcome you to Jere Whitson Elementary School. Our goal at Jere Whitson is to provide every student the opportunity to obtain the best education possible. We will not discriminate against any student, employee, or applicant on the basis of sex, race, color or national origin. We have high expectations of our students and stress to each of them that they can and will succeed. To accomplish this goal, there must be a close working relationship between the parents and the school. Our Information Handbook has been developed to promote this positive relationship by giving you much of the information you need to know in order to help us help your child succeed.
Please, get involved as much as possible with your child’s education. Be positive; set high expectations of your child; contact your child’s teacher often to see that your child is working well in school and to find out what suggestions your child’s teacher might have to offer for improvement. Do not hesitate to call the school if you have questions about your child’s progress and above all else, let your child know that you value a good education as one of the most important things in life.
Never underestimate the importance of your involvement in your child’s education.
